Black Choker with Pendant
A choker is a short necklace that fits closely around the neck and has an adjustable length. This choker model is made from natural spinel. The delicate neck accessory is handmade and highly popular. The choker length is 36 cm + 6 cm extender.
The pendant is a palm tree charm, brass with 24K gold plating.
Spinel is a rare mineral with a rich range of colors, can be transparent or opaque. It has high hardness and glassy luster, with an octahedral shape.
Spinel stones are adorned with the Monomakh's Cap and the Vytellbach Crown, although previously believed to be rubies. The most famous deposits are found in Thailand, Vietnam, India, and Australia. Valuable red specimens are found in Myanmar, while blue gems are mined in Sri Lanka.
The stone is quite hard, scoring 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale.
The mineral is brittle and easily damaged when struck against a hard surface.
The crystals have a glassy luster, sometimes showing asterism and fluorescence.
Caring for Spinel Choker
Due to the natural fragility of the mineral, it requires careful handling.
Spinel jewelry should be removed during physical activities, kept away from harsh chemicals, and shielded from impacts. It is advisable to store it in a separate box or case. Cleaning can be done with a mild soapy solution and a soft brush every 3-4 months.
